Shinrin-yoku is a Japanese term known as forest bathing, a gentle mindful walk in the woods. As a photographer your forest bathing can be anywhere by taking the time to connect with your surroundings. How does the air feel or smell? What colours, patterns, and shapes do you see? What do you hear? Feel the textures. Notice the light and the shadows. Take the time to rest, to know your surroundings as you would to learn more about a friend. Your senses will heighten as if by magic but it’s not magic, it’s you, bathing in the forest. You will see and feel the difference in your images.
